The Simunye Legacy
Simunye, a Zulu term that translates to ‘we are one’, was founded by Rob Korb in Cape Town in 1998. He was later joined by his wife, Kathleen, who served as the company accountant, leveraging her extensive 30 years of experience in the FMCG sector. Together, they faced challenges head-on, establishing Simunye’s reputation as a vital link between clients and retailers, uniting them as one.
In March 2023, the Korbs retired, and the company transitioned to new ownership under Desmonia Jansen and Angie Morrison, two dedicated employees with a collective experience of over 40 years in both perishable and non-perishable categories within the SPAR group.
Our Guiding Principles
For over 25 years, Simunye has been built on a foundation of strong values and clear purpose. These principles define who we are and how we create success for every brand we represent.

Angie Morrison
Formerly Head Wine Sommelier of the Cape Grace Hotel, Angie currently heads the Financial, HR and IT departments, managing all the online systems used in the field. Specializing in data management, she collates reports for clients along with invoicing and payroll.
Always ready for action, our Sales Representatives and Merchandisers work in teams in accordance with structured route schedules for maximum service efficiency. They are dedicated to maintaining our highest standard of service excellence while remaining friendly, yet professional.
Brand Training
Product training usually takes place on a Monday with all team members present. This is your opportunity to meet the team one-on-one as well as answer any questions they may have.

We encourage all our principals to take part in at least one of the two annual SPAR Trade Shows in April and August. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet retailers one-on-one and showcase your brand! We are on hand to assist you from planning to execution.
